In a cover story withRolling Stonepublished on Thursday, May 15, the pop star (whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor) opened up about how, after her second psychedelic therapy session, she looked forPamela AndersonandTommy Lee'ssex tape and watched the entire thing. "I found it to be so beautiful," Lorde, 28, told the publication. "And maybe it's f----- up that I watched it, but I saw two people that were so in love with each other." Theo Wenner The "What Was That" hitmaker said that she saw a "purity" in it. "They were jumping off this big boat.… They were like children," said Lorde. "They were so free. And I just was like, 'Whoa. Being this free comes with danger.'" Elsewhere in the interview, the "Green Light" singer revealed she pursued MDMA and psilocybin therapy from 2022 to 2024. "I was touring without stage fright for the first time," said Lorde. The therapy also allowed her to feel differently about her music. "I would play 'Supercut,'" said Lorde, "and all of a sudden there was a hook around my guts and everyone in the room was having the same feeling, [like] there'd been a huge pressure change." She added: "It made me realize how much I love and kind of need that very deep, visceral response to feel my music." In 1995, Anderson, 58, and Lee, 62, whowere marriedfrom February 1995 to 1998 and sharetwo sons togetherBrandon and Dylan took a houseboat trip to Lake Mead for their honeymoon, where they filmed intimate moments. Later, they were compiled by a third party into a sex tape. "We weren't trying to make a porno, just to document our vacation," the Mötley Crüe drummer later wrote of the video. In May 2020, Anderson commented on why she didn't think her sex tape was one onWatch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, saying: "That was not a sex tape. That was a compilation of vacations that we were naked on." She also noted that she had never seen the video and had not "made not one dollar" from its distribution.
